Hi there! I’m Shelly, and I’m so happy you’re here.

Cohen & Wrigley | Doggie Power Duo

My story is this. Small town girl who moved to Seattle to pursue her career as a dietitian (if you don’t know what a dietitian is, click here). As luck would have it, I lived in an apartment building filled with attractive young singles (AKA one of the best years of my life, think Melrose Place-esque without the sleaziness) and met my one and only, Justin, and his darling pups. Then came two years of mountain living for graduate school in Colorado followed by a move back to Seattle where Justin proposed marriage in a cupcake shop. I know. A cupcake shop! Now happily married and settled in the great Pacific Northwest working as a weight loss, wellness, and sports dietitian. 

Helping people to lead healthier lives is my jam, but the creative in me has been feeling neglected. This brings us to this blog, which would not be if not for the support of family and friends who encouraged me to make the leap into the blogoshere. As much as this blog is for me, this blog is for them.

ShellyMade is a space for sharing recipes, crafts/projects, party and decor ideas as well as for documenting my family’s day-to-day and ramblings on life. Fair warning, I LOVE holidays. Christmas is my favorite. And because nutrition is what I do, there will inevitably be bits of nutrition wisdom posted from time to time.
