Here’s my bump pics for 17 and 19 weeks but I’m already 20 weeks. Eek halfway there and not feeling ready at all! To say things have been busy in our lives lately is an understatement. The holidays went by in a blur as we’ve been so focused on renovating the new house (doing all the work ourselves!) and moving out of our apartment. Keeping up with bump pics has been low on my priority list but I am really trying because I think it’s neat to see how my body changes each week.
How far along? 20 weeks
Total weight gain: 8.5 pounds the last time I checked. Pregnancy is not kind to your body image. Especially if you have pretty much stopped exercising. <<– This is so bizarre to me as I’ve never had such a hard time motivating myself to get moving.
Maternity clothes? Getting to the point where I need to be wearing maternity clothes but am still squeezing into my stretchiest, most forgiving non-maternity clothes.
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Sleep has been interrupted by anxiety, having a cold, and difficulty finding a comfortable position (I’ve been having low back SI joint pain). Thinking I might need a pregnancy sleep pillow soon. Any recommendations here? I don’t really think I’d like one of those huge body pillows that basically takes the space of your husband, but I’ve seen other smaller pillows that might be useful.
Best moment this week: Ended 2015 on a bang by feeling baby move for the first time!!! On December 31, we worked all day on moving out of the apartment. We went out to dinner and as I wearily ate my meal, I noticed a sensation in my lower abdomen kind of like popcorn popping. This happened a few times before I realized it was the baby. Have been feeling more movement each day since. Other moms I’ve talked to told me it would be the most special and amazing feeling. They were right.
Miss Anything? A finished bathroom. Heat. Doing laundry at home. Wi-Fi. Disposable income. Oh the joys of home renovation! Yes, I’ve had a charmed life. Getting a cold didn’t help my moodiness about the whole situation. But really things could be so much worse and I can see how wonderful our home will be once all the work is done.
Food cravings: Fruit! I had a particular craving for canned peaches this week. I always have a craving for baked goods (pregnant or not) and we’ve been having our fill thanks to generous neighbors.
Food aversions: None
Have you started to show yet? Definitely showing, but it seems that my boobs grow at a faster rate each week than my belly. It’s alarming!
Gender prediction: Boy. We find out in just 5 days!! AHHHH!
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: I am happy but know that I’ve been awfully moody. Poor Justin is working so hard on the house and sometimes I am not as helpful or appreciative as I could be. I am blessed to have married a saint though, who forgives me my sour moods and lazy ways.
Looking forward to: Finding out if Baby J is a boy or a girl!
For my readers who like my blog for recipes and diy inspiration, I promise I will work on getting some non-pregnancy content soon. I had this amazing cookie recipe to share with you for Christmas but never posted. Meh, I might still post anyway. They would be great for Valentine’s Day, too.
